Pay attention to these petals, Steven. The petals' dance seems improvised, but it is being calculated in real time based on the physical properties of this planet. With hard work, and dedication, you can master the magical properties of your gem and perform your own dance!
Pearl has a thin, bird-like body and pale white skin with a bluish-greenish tint. Her short hair is pastel orange/strawberry-blonde and is styled to a point like pixie cut. She has large light blue eyes and a cone shaped nose. Pearl's Gemstone is a large pearl embedded in her forehead. Pearl wears a light blue tunic with a yellow star and a large turquoise sash tied around her waist. She has pale orange short leggings, pink socks and turquoise shoes. She is a few inches shorter than Garnet .
Prior to the end of "Steven the Sword Fighter" she wore a light blue top with a yellow star and short pale pink leggings under an iridescent blue and lime green skirt together with a cyan bow. Her shoes were light blue with lime green socks. She is now a bit taller. After she regenerated, she gained her current outfit. In "Beach Party", she wears a turquoise and white dress as her casual wear. She wears a blue unitard that has futuristic designs on the top half and above the knees on the bottom half and orange knee high flats as her space suit in "Space Race".
Personality
Pearl is a perfectionist, occasionally wishing things to be done her way. She puts a lot of thought and reason into her plans and actions. Though she is very graceful and controlled, she sometimes gets flustered when plans are messed up, or when Amethyst says something she doesn't think Steven should hear. She is very caring and motherly to the point of occasionally being overbearing, but always well-meaning. Out of all the Crystal Gems, she cries the easiest in emotional situations. She is shown to be one of the most naive of the gems, in terms of human culture, often questioning or misinterpreting certain human traditions or behaviors, such as jokes, games, arcades, and birthday parties. It was also shown the Pearl can be very, very persistant/determined to achieve a goal, as she was willing to risk Steven's and her own life (but ignorant to the fact that she was doing so) to reach off planet, a feat she has not been able to do for a long time.
All Gems have the ability to summon a weapon, shapeshift, and retreat into their Gems after becoming injured to heal. Activating her Crystal Gem summons a magic spear. She is able to project holographic images from her Gem and has psychokinetic abilities. She is the only gem seen so far who has pulled items from her gem. However it is implied in "Mirror Gem " that the item must be put there as the mirror was found before she was able to summon it. She can also fuse with Amethyst to create Opal. In "Giant Woman", Pearl is shown to have the ability of psammokinesis, and also have the ability of shooting an energy blast from her spear as shown in "Watermelon Steven".
Pearl is shown to be every knowledgeable in human engineering, as she was able to repair and upgrade Greg's destroyed van("House Guest ") and was able to construct a spaceship out of scraps("Space Race"). It is unknown whether Pearl is the most educated of the Crystal Gems since she is valedictorian in subjects such as aeronautics and aerospace engineering.
Pearl acts as a kind, motherly figure towards Steven, in some episodes treating him like her own son. She always speaks gently to him and is always the first to show concern when taking him on a dangerous mission.
Like the other Gems, Pearl respects and follows Garnet's orders without question. She does, however, believe that the Gems are a team and may not exactly see Garnet as a leader. When she was scared off by Greg's over eager bear-hug she went to hide behind Garnet suggesting she sees her as a protector type figure.
Pearl is often seen scolding Amethyst and in return, Amethyst teases her. Despite them fighting often it's revealed that Pearl sometimes think she is getting through to Amethyst ("Tiger Millionaire"). Regardless of their differences Pearl is still friends and teammates with Amethyst.
Pearl dislikes Sugilite due to her violent actions. Pearl almost admits that she's jealous of Sugilite's strength while singing a song, but she cuts herself off before finishing the line.
It is revealed that she and the other Gems (except Steven) may in fact be over a hundred years old in the episode "So Many Birthdays".
In "Together Breakfast," her spear is destroyed when the Together Breakfast in its mutated state breaks it in half. However in "Frybo," she was able to summon another one. It can be assumed when a Crystal Gem's weapon is destroyed or misplaced, they can summon replacements.
It is shown that when Pearl blushes, she blushes light blue, as revealed in "Serious Steven." This likely means she has blue blood. This is supported by the fact the inside of her mouth is blue-purple in color.
In the episode "Giant Woman," Pearl has the ability to manipulate the sand.
As revealed in "So Many Birthdays," Pearl likes pie, does not understand jokes, and thinks that jokes involving actions are lies (or insults).
Pearl, beside the opal on Opal's forehead and the alexandrite on Alexandrite's forhead, is the only Gem to not have a faceted gem. She instead has a smooth gem.
Pearl has the ability to create something such as police tape with her gem, as seen in the episode "Lars and the Cool Kids."
Pearl had a replicator wand which was destroyed in "Onion Trade" by Garnet.
Also, it is revealed in "Onion Trade" that Pearl owns a battle axe.
Pearl is the first Gem that's actually shown retreating into her gem to regenerate after sustaining serious injuries, seen in the episode "Steven the Sword Fighter."
Pearl sings for the first time in the episode "Coach Steven."
It was shown in "Monster Buddies" that Steven keeps a framed picture of Pearl on the side of their fridge which was later destroyed by the Centipeetle Mother.
In "So Many Birthdays", we see that Pearl is extremely emotional in serious situations.
Pearl is the only other Crystal Gem to mention Connie by name.
Pearl's Gate
It was revealed in "Ocean Gem" that Pearl can summon dual weapons.
According to the episode "Space Race", Pearl may have already visited the cosmos, hence the use of the word "revisit" in the synopsis.
In "Space Race", it's hinted that Pearl does not like to be on Earth and deeply wishes to go home, much like Lapis Lazuli, as long as she isn't thinking about it.
In "Together Breakfast" and "So Many Birthdays", Pearl stated that she likes both pizza and pie. Unlike in "Fusion Cuisine", where she says that she hates eating. This is most likely a retcon or an attempt to not hurt Steven's feelings.
It is revealed that Pearl can use ranged attacks such as the energy blast she created with her spear in "Watermelon Steven".
