Whereas the Steven we see today is from Timeline 2, what do you think happened to the original Steven's timeline that died at the end of Steven and the Stevens? The presence of Steven was very important during the invasion of Jasper, Peridot etc. Do you think the world of that time line is devastated?
yup. without him, the Gems would've never even noticed Peridot. That means she also probably wouldn't have brought Jasper to Earth, but she would have reactivated the Kindergarten, whatever that would've done. Obviously, that's also useless anyway, since the Cluster would've eventually hatch, since it almost did so in Timeline 1.
I had read a user's comment saying that since the Glass that PD broke was still broken even after Thousands of Years, they possibly left the JM shortly afterwards, and I think that theory makes sense, what do you think made them retrait? Homeworld had technology to be able to get rid of those creatures in the JM, and YD told that the gems destroyed the organic life in the planet, you thinks that somehow the species on the planet was intelligent as humans and managed to protect themself? I think it's unlikely since the planet was destroyed but nothing prevents the gems from fighting them for a short time. And finally there may be some creature in the JM that made them retrait from it and leave the Moon intact, imagine JM having a creature like that:
I don't think they can fight back, but they may have taken some creatures from other planets as a kind of weapon, just as humans used dogs in wars, they can take Aliens as weapons as possibly the gems may have enemy species, since for some reason YD wants the Cluster for something, and as far as Peridot told the Cluster is only a Geo Weapon that destroys worlds, then it is possible that she wants to get rid of her enemies.
You seem cross. I think you're letting a small outburst in Jungle Moon color your opinion of PD too harshly, and that's unlike you. Remember, she didn't get what she wanted in the episode, so she must've done something to earn Earth later on. And we don't know what her interactions with BD were like, so I doubt she was obnoxious all the time.
The only reason i like PD right now is because of my theories and the potential i see for further character development
But what i saw when i saw the episode was a spoiled girl with anger issues that was going to do something very stupid to let herself shattered, the way she claims for a planet and the way she punches the wall because she feels very upset just made me thought "that girl needs discipline" and erased every thought about the adorable behavior she presented earlier
Is the character i have less enjoyed, as i said, i only like her for the theories right now
I think i'm more highly biased than Garnet at this moment
I'm going to let you in a little secret that's not actually a secret at all but anyway:
I have an affinity for the PD/BD ship. It was never popular amongst the fandom, but the moment I saw BD mourning PD, and the way she said "very" in that heart-to-gem with Greg made infatuated with the possibilty of the two being lovers. "But they're sisters! They're best friends!" Even mother/daughter. I still didn't let people's opinions color my judgment, because it was still ambiguous.
As of recent revelations, it seems a lot more likely that PD was more of a child/little sister to the other Diamonds, at least based on her interactions with YD. But, I'm not going to get upset (yet), and I'm not going to abandon my theory that BD and PD might still have been lovers. I'm going to continue to enjoy this ship, even if it sinks, because if all else fails, I still have fanfiction.
It's good to anticipate character development. It happened for Steven, so it could be mirrored for PD. How do you feel about Amethyst, a Gem who was in a similar situation? YD has lost her temper quite a few times, and I would argue all Diamonds have some sense of entitlement.
Speaking of Old Yeller, let's contrast her temperament and behaviors. When we and other Gems (Peridot anyone?) look(ed) at Yellow, we tend to see a being who is rational, pragmatic, and an ambitious leader: these are her learned behaviors. But is she always this way? What about her row with Peridot, who then realized Yellow wasn't being rational when she ordered Peridot to let the Cluster do its thang? Yellow then detonated the communicator out of anger, since she didn't agree with Peridot, who was making valid claims about Earth. And then the outburst at the trial? The defense probably had it coming, but the prosecution? That wasn't damage control or even a justifiable punishment: it was unstoppable rage, and Blue even chastised her for it. Clearly, she is triggered easily by events related to Earth, and this emotion is part of her temperament. She is a chest Gem after all, but she tries to align her behaviors with that of a forehead Gem, who tend to be rational.
This is to say if YD can modify or suppress her instincts, why not PD? She will have to learn to do such to rule a colony.
